Each year, approximately 10,000 animals are euthanized in Mecklenburg County alone due to pet overpopulation. Awareness of these numbers, education on spay/neuter, animal adoption, and animal rescue are vital in the fight to save lives. Road To Home Canine Refuge is dedicated to partnering with other animal welfare organizations to aid in bringing awareness to the plight of homeless dogs with positive community education.
On Friday, May 3rd, 2013 Road To Home Canine Refuge and Rodney Scot Stoner Photography will present UNDERDOGS: The Journey Home from 6-8:30pm at The Vin Master to benefit Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control and Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love.
Guests will enjoy complimentary wine, paired with hors d’oeuvres as well as a tempting selection of gourmet sweets. More than twenty pieces of unique artwork will be showcased and sold at silent auction and displayed during the remainder of the evening for purchase during the South End Gallery Crawl and throughout the month of May.
With the funds raised through auction and purchase, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control hopes to maintain current programs and care while searching for loving homes for animals. Great Dane Friends will use the funds raised to help dogs listed on their medical funds page that are in need of vetting and treatments http://greatdanefriends.com/medical-fund/. Along with raising funds, we hope to raise awareness surrounding the areas of rescue and adoption. We hope you will join us for a wonderful evening mingling with other animal lovers and showing support for this worthy and urgent cause.
